On a dreary Tuesday, there’s only one thing that can get us feeling festive and cheerful, and that’s Fat Tuesday! The Mardi Gras celebration is today and while we are not fortunate enough to be celebrating it in style in New Orleans this year, there are still plenty of celebrations to partake in locally. Traditionally, Fat Tuesday marks the day before Ash Wednesday, which is also the first day of Lent. Simply translated, Fat Tuesday means Mardi Gras in French and signifies a day of feasting before the fasting season of Lent begins. Of course it’s not a feast without some New Orleans inspired food specials (and a few drink specials too), so we’ve picked a few options for our Mardi Gras fun this evening, from wine pairings at Sello’s to fantastic Mardi Gras specials at Sunset Grille. In Salisbury, Brew River will be going strong until 2am, while Roadie Joe’s plans on celebrating all week-long.
