Spring continues to confuse us with her unpredictable weather events, which is why we are grateful for a calendar full of predictable events to enjoy this month. The next week brings plenty to keep us busy (and to help us forget that we saw SNOW in April). Spring celebrations are happening in Berlin and Cambridge this weekend, along with the start of the Lewes Tulip Festival and Food Truck Fridays in Rehoboth. Ocean City is hosting a few indoor events, including a ballet performance of Snow White, the annual Home, Condo & Outdoor Show, and the OC Bridal Show. Rain or shine (or snow) we suggest getting out and enjoying all that Delmarva has to offer.

Birding on Delmarva

When: Thursday, April 7, 7pm-9pm

Where: Rehoboth Beach Museum, Rehoboth

What: Join Jim Rapp as he leads a discussion on the spring birding season. Millions of migratory birds will make their way to Delmarva this season, either on their way north or to their breeding grounds here on Delmarva. Rapp organizes the Delmarva Birding Weekend (now in its 21st year), which will be held April 21-14.

Salisbury Bike Party: Vintage Venture

When: Friday, April 8, 6:30pm-8pm

Where: Downtown Salisbury

What: This month’s Bike Party theme is Vintage Venture, which mean you are invited to don your best flare from any era. The monthly ride kicks off at the Government Building across from The Brick Room, taking a different route each month. The halfway point is typically Schumaker Park with other stops along the trail. For more information, visit www.DowntownSalisbury.org.

Food Truck Friday

When: Friday, April 8, 4pm-7pm

Where: Epworth United Methodist Church, Rehoboth

What: Springtime brings the food trucks back for the first of many Food Truck Fridays in Rehoboth! Ten food vendors will gather this Friday, offering a diverse selection of menu items, all in an effort to raise funds for the Epworth Skate Park and Epworth’s Food and Love Soup Kitchen. Some of the vendors you can expect to see are The Sea Hogg, The Polish Connection, Jakarta’s Indonesian Gourmet, Sherri’s Crab Cakes, Big Thunder Roadside Kitchen, Hot Dogs at the Beach, Mama Mia, Rosenfeld’s Roadside Jewish Deli, A Latte Soul, and Po’ Boys.

Berlin Spring Celebration

When: Saturday, April 9, 10am-5pm

Where: Main Street, Berlin

What: Follow us down the rabbit hole this weekend as we attend the Berlin Spring Celebration! The theme is Alice in Wonderland, so expect all of your favorite characters to be in attendance, along with a Children’s Tea Party. Games, crafts, face painting, and activities will abound on Main Street and in various stores and restaurants around town.

Lewes Tulip Festival

When: Thursday, April 7-Saturday, April 16

Where: Lewes Parks and Downtown Lewes

What: Each year, Lewes celebrates its Dutch heritage with the annual Tulip Festival, sponsored by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce, Lewes in Bloom, the Lewes Historical Society, Lewes Parks & Recreation, the Historic Farmers Markets, and the Zwaanendael Museum. City-wide activities will take place in conjunction with the blooming (fingers crossed) of the 15,000-plus tulips that have been planted. Enjoy a ride on the Tiptoe to the Tulips Trolley or take a walking tour using the Tiptoe to the Tulips Map.

Cambridge Spring Fling

When: Saturday, April 9, 6pm-9pm

Where: Choptank River Golf & Events Center

What: Cambridge Main Street threw a pretty spectacular party last month for St. Patrick’s Day, so we have no doubt that their upcoming Spring Fling fundraiser at the Choptank River Golf & Events Center will be equally as fantastic. Expect a live and silent auction, along with live music, including live entertainment from What’s Next, who was voted Baltimore Magazine’s ‘Best Party Band’ in 2013, 2014 and 2015. The High Spot will be providing heavy appetizers as well. You can buy tickets at Katie Mae’s Country Shoppe or the Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are also available online here.

Home, Condo & Outdoor Show

When: Friday, April 8 – Sunday, April 10

Where: Ocean City Convention Center

What: Hundreds of vendors and experts will gather at the Ocean City Convention Center this weekend for the annual Home, Condo & Outdoor Show. Compare and save or learn more about decorating, remodeling, accessorizing, and designing. It’s the perfect event for future and current homeowners

Snow White Ballet

When: Saturday, April 9, 2pm & 7pm

Where: Ocean City Performing Arts Center

What: The Eastern Shore Ballet presents their performance of Snow White this Saturday, April 9, with two show times: 2pm and 7pm.

OC Bridal Show

When: Sunday, April 10, 1pm-4pm

Where: Seacrets, Ocean City

What: The area’s top wedding vendors will gather at Seacrets on Sunday, April 10 for the annual OC Bridal Show.
