The summer tourist season is in full swing here in Worcester County…but, what most don’t realize, is that it’s also “kitten season”. For local cat lovers – there is no better time to adopt your own furry friend! To help ensure these cuddly kitties find good homes, the Worcester County Humane Society is ramping up its “Summer Feline Fling” offering a lower adoption fee for cats of ALL ages! Now through the end of September, you can adopt a cat for just $30. In addition, the shelter is also offering the adoption of a second kitty at no additional cost. The key is to find loving homes for as many of the fantastic felines as possible, but remember all adoptions are based on application approval.

The discounted adoption fee includes spay/neuter, immunizations, microchip, FELV/FIV testing and deworming. “There is no better time than now to adopt from the shelter as it is currently filled to capacity with cats and kittens” says Jessica Summers, WCHS adoption coordinator. “We currently have over 150 cats of all ages at the shelter and more coming in almost daily. So far we’ve already had over 50 kittens turned in and we still have a long way to go before kitten season is over.”

The shelter also has a senior to senior program where any person over the age of 65 adopting a cat over the age of 8 will have their adoption fee waived.
