Do you love volunteering and giving back to the community? Do you love learning new things? And, do you love our great Chesapeake Bay located in the heart of Maryland? If you answered yes to all of these questions, the Volunteer Friendraiser hosted by the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM) is for you!

The CBMM is searching for personable, outgoing, and fun individuals to volunteer and participate in their Volunteer Friendraiser on Thursday, February 16, at the CBMM’s waterfront campus in St. Michaels, MD at 4 p.m.

The Volunteer Friendraiser is geared toward increasing the number of guides provided to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum’s guests each year. The Museum draws more than 75,000 guests to its 18-acre campus and this continues to grow! Through training, fellowship, attending special events, and dedicated volunteers, CBMM is able to provide the proper staff to those wanting to experience what the Chesapeake has to offer.

Allison Speight, a CBMM Volunteer and Education Coordinator, said each spring thousands of school children come to experience the Chesapeake Bay, and because the programs are growing so much, so does the need for ambitious guides.

The CBMM is eager to introduce the local community to their current and new guides. The Volunteer Friendraiser will include complimentary refreshments and the opportunity for future guides to learn about the volunteering opportunities offered at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. So, if you’re passionate about what the Chesapeake Bay has to offer then this event is for you!
