A party to celebrate and support the local arts in our community? Sounds like the perfect night out to us! The Art League of Ocean City is proud to host the “pARTy for the Arts” on Saturday, April 8th from 5:00-8:00pm.
The proceeds from this event will support three local nonprofit organizations: Brown Box Theatre Project, the Friends of Gwen Lehman Foundation, and The Art League of Ocean City. Brown Box Theatre Project, which is directed by local native, Kyler Taustin, is a project driven to creating high-quality theatre productions for local communities in an effort to expand the reach of impactful, professional performing arts. Producing theatre on the East Coast from Ocean City to Boston, MA, Brown Box Theatre also offers a Free Shakespeare program each year that can be seen in local schools, including Stephen Decatur High School.
Gwen Lehman, an astounding former Theatre Teacher at Stephen Decatur High School, is a talented individual who paved the way for theatrical success at our hometown school. The Gwen Lehman Foundation, Inc. provides a scholarship each year to a graduating student from SDHS who wishes to continue their theatre studies beyond high school.
The Art League of Ocean City is so much more than an incredible art gallery in Ocean City. They are an essential part of our community as they promote visual arts in Ocean City through education, exhibits, scholarships, programs, and community art events. Each day, you are sure to find a class or cultural experience that is scheduled in their new and modern facility located on 94th Street in Ocean City. In addition, the Arts Center is open daily, free of charge.
The “pARTy for the Arts” will feature live music by local Bryan Russo and performances by the Brown Box Theatre Project. In addition, tapas style food will be curated by local Phil Cropper and a cash bar of craft beer and wine will be available to enjoy. Original art by Gwen Lehman and other artists will be on display. Guests are encouraged to join in the raffles that will be available throughout the event, in addition to an always fun selfie station!

General Admission tickets are available for $45 per guest and a special discounted ticket of $25 is available for those who are 25 and under.
