Get Crafty for Christmas
No Christmas is complete without some good ol’ arts and crafts. Get creative and make your own ugly Christmas sweater, a Christmas tree ornament, or decorate your own gift wrapping paper! We certainly can’t forget about the classic gingerbread houses either, those are always a fun way to bring out your creativity (and ability to decorate gingerbread with frosting and candy)!
Throw Around Kindness like Confetti
The holidays aren’t just about giving gifts to your family and friends, it’s also a time to give back to those in need or just simply paying it forward.Whether it’s donating unwanted clothes to the homeless (especially during the cold winter months), buying the person behind you in line their morning coffee, smiling at a stranger, all of these things can certainly brighten someone’s day!
Create your own Christmas Tradition
There are TONS of holiday traditions that families all over the country look forward to during this time of year. If you’ve never had a holiday tradition before, it’s never too late to start! It’s always exciting to prepare for fun activities during the holiday season. To get you started, here are a few fun tradition ideas:
Gather your friends and family for holiday game night! Have a gift wrapping contest, play pin the nose on Rudolph, and you can even create fun holiday themed relay races for all ages!
Go to a local holiday themed festival or parade. The Eastern Shore has plenty of parades and festivals to get you in the spirit. Ocean City is a popular stop for Eastern Shore residents and vacationers to view their gorgeous light display during Christmas time. Not only is the Festival of Lights in OC a classic, but there are tons of other fun events to visit like the Old Fashioned Christmas Parade in Chincoteague, VA; the Annual Christmas Boat Parade in Salisbury, MD and so much more. Host a baking contest. Cookies, cakes, and candy oh my! The holiday season is the perfect time of year to break out your apron and baking supplies to make the most scrumptious holiday treats you can give to your family, friends and peers! Why not spice it up and throw in some friendly competition? No matter the tradition you have or want to start, make the most of it and more importantly – have FUN!
Visit Santa
You are never too old to visit the big guy himself so why not visit St. Nick for a quick photo op! It’s very hard to find Santa since he’s preparing for Christmas day, so don’t miss your opportunity when you spot him around town.
Create a Holiday Lip Sync Video
What is the perfect combination for great holiday fun? Friends, Christmas music and a camera (throw in some holiday adult beverages too) and you can make the ultimate Christmas Lip Sync video! Upload to your computer and voila! Share with your family and friends for some extra holiday cheer.
No matter what you do this Christmas season, make sure you are surrounding yourself with your loved ones and making the most of the time spent with family. Christmas is the holiday to gather around with your family and friends making so many memories that you will cherish for the rest of your life.
Happy Holidays from the Shorebread team to you!
