The Ravens Nation did it! The Baltimore Ravens have won the ultimate fight and have battled through all adversity – from lost brothers, to false allegations, to power outages – the Ravens have come out on top – just as we knew they would!

Now, it’s time to tackle the next big question: Since our beloved Baltimore Ravens have won Super Bowl XVII; and as the hype of football season will begin to dial down – we may ask ourselves –  Now What?

Well, the answer is this: now we patiently wait for that same hype to rebuild as we analyze the team’s offseason decisions.  Get your box of tissues ready because the 2012 Baltimore Ravens as we know it will no longer be the same. Several free agents and pending contracts will surely have us in future frenzy. We already know that we’ll be without our favorite #52 as we face the upcoming season, but how many more men must we say goodbye to?

It’s a bit disheartening when we hear names like Ed Reed, Joe Flacco, Paul Krueger, Dannell Ellerbe, Bryant McKinnie, and Cary Williams on the open market. Not to mention all of the unrestricted free agents, including TEs Dennis Pitta and Ed Dickson.

All we can really do is once again put our trust back into the organization (“In Ozzie We Trust”) and believe that they’ll make the best decisions to ensure future success of our champion football team.

As devoted fans, we must continue to rally around the Baltimore Ravens as we wait in anticipation for the 2013 NFL Draft, which is set to take place on Saturday, April 27. And who knows… perhaps we’ll witness more greatness in the approaching draft and welcome in a new player whom we will fall equally in love with!

Until then, let’s enjoy this amazing Super Bowl victory and welcome our team (with Lombardi in hand) back into Baltimore! Then we can begin to “BUCKLE UP” for the orange and black birds’ Spring Training Camp and Opening Day; or maybe even catch a few rounds of PGA Tour Golf! That’s right… I said GOLF! Stay tuned for an upcoming post from me on how the two great sports of golf and football can actually relate.
