Thanksgiving Day is so close we can almost smell the turkey and all those wonderful fixin’s. After spending all day cooking up a storm in the kitchen and enjoying all of the hard work (aka, the delicious food) with our closest family and friends; our plan is to migrate to the couch where we can come up with a game plan for the most exciting shopping day of the year. We like to keep our Black Friday shopping local, keeping in mind how important the biggest shopping day of the year is to our resort town during the slow season. “Growing up in a small town like Ocean City and Berlin, I’ve seen firsthand just how important shopping small & local is,” said Dani Pogge, owner of local surf shop, Bungalow Seven. “Not only are you helping yourself get better quality products and service but you are also helping to support and shape the character and prosperity of your town. By keeping the dollars in the local community you are also increasing jobs, wages and entrepreneurship.”

As hard as it is to believe that Thanksgiving is this Thursday, it’s time to stop putting off your Christmas list and get a head start so you’re not the last one at the mall at 9PM Christmas Eve. Obviously, some of our favorite stores around OC have decided to participate in the holiday, offering specials you can’t beat and are available one day of the year, Black Friday (well and maybe Small Business Saturday too, but more on that later!).
