Last week, we presented the first in a series of posts on wintertime dining specials across Delmarva, starting with our roundup of the best deals happening this season in Rehoboth Beach. We love a good deal, and what’s more, we LOVE good food, so anytime we find prix fixe menus or dining specials at our favorite area restaurants we are all over it. This week, we are presenting you with the dining specials at our favorite Berlin restaurants. As a small town, there may not be an abundance of dining options, but there are a small collection of high-quality, locally owned and operated restaurants that never disappoint. The Atlantic Hotel, Siculi, The Globe, and Blacksmith are frequent favorites for us, and they are ALL offering fantastic winter dining specials right now. Take a look!

Siculi

104 North Main Street

410-629-0550

Located on the north end of Main Street in downtown Berlin, Siculi is known for their brick oven pizzas, which arrive artfully topped with bubbly cheese and fresh toppings. The perfect combination of cheese and sauce, each slice will melt right in your mouth, leaving you reaching for another, and another, and another. That’s not all, there are also entrees, salads, desserts, and wine to consider. As for specials, there are daily lunch and dinner specials featured during the week. We’ll start with the lunch specials. Available Monday through Friday, dine-in lunch specials include a one-topping personal pizza and a house or Caesar salad for $8. For dinner, stop in on Monday nights for half-priced bottles of wine. On Tuesday, enjoy a pizza and a pint of house wine for $12.95. Wednesday is spaghetti and meatballs night, paired with a house or Caesar salad for $12.95. Thursday, enjoy a 5-ounce crab cake or a 10-ounce prime rib with mashed potatoes and a vegetable for $12.95. Bon appetite!

Blacksmith

104 Pitts Street

410-973-2102

Blacksmith is a relative newcomer to the Berlin dining scene, opening their doors last spring. Owned and operated by Chef Justine Zegna (formerly of Rehoboth’s famed Planet X Café) Blacksmith is steeped in a tradition of locally sourced, small plates designed to pay homage to our local culinary heritage, but with a modern twist. Take the Eastern Shore Bahn Mi for example, a fusion of Eastern Shore pride (scrapple) and the bahn mi (a traditional Vietnamese sandwich). For specials, there are $6 lunch specials available daily, along with $8.50 burger specials all week (the burgers are a must-try…trust us). For dinners, you can find specials on Monday through Thursdays. Monday nights, authentic tacos and pupusas are available for just $3, arriving in handcrafted tortillas and garnished with handmade condiments. Tuesday is burger and Burley Oak night, with $8.50 burgers and $4.50 Burley Oak drafts. Wednesday, dine on half-priced small plates and hand-crafted, house-infused spirits. Thursday, steak and oyster night! Tuck into a juicy house steak with fresh oysters and sides for half price.

The Globe

12 Broad Street

410-641-0784

We stopped into The Globe this past Tuesday and were thrilled to discover it was $5 Dinner Night. A new addition to their specials line-up, every Tuesday night the kitchen features a special menu of $5 dinners. Meatloaf, fried chicken, and spinach and artichoke dip are just a few of the options, with portions just large enough to leave you feeling full and satisfied. Did we mention they are only $5!?! On Thursdays, grab a date or scoop up your best friend and head to The Globe for half-price wine by the bottle. We can’t think of a better way to spend a cold winter night.

The Atlantic Hotel

2 North Main Street

410-641-3589

In the latest addition to the burgeoning culinary scene in Berlin, the Atlantic Hotel presents…sushi night! As sushi lovers, we are pretty excited about this weekly, winter special. Every Thursday night at The Atlantic Hotel, Chef Brook Lamar will be on the scene presenting a serious selection of sushi rolls, sashimi and nigiri, along with miso soup, gyoza, edamame, and half price sake. We’ve got our eye on the Omega3 roll, with tuna, salmon, and snapper on the inside, topped with tempura bits and tobbikko. Then again you can’t go wrong with a classic spicy tuna roll. Sushi Night on Main Street is every Thursday from 5pm until 10pm, all winter long.
