Mother’s Day is rapidly approaching, which means it’s imperative that you start making those Mother’s Day plans. Moms give selflessly all year long and there’s no better way to show her how much you appreciate her hard work than by treating her to a fabulous meal out (filled with flowers and gifts too of course). Fortunately, there are any number of excellent places to take your mom for brunch or dinner on Mother’s Day, but to make it a little easier for you we’ve rounded up a few of our favorites for you to consider for Mother’s Day dining in Salisbury, Ocean City, Fenwick and Berlin.

Market Street Inn

130 W. Market Street, Salisbury MD

410-742-4145

www.marketstreetinnsalisbury.com

We often find ourselves at Market Street Inn at dinner time or late night for the live music and bar scene, but the outside seating on the water is the ideal setting for a Mother’s Day brunch or early dinner. The brunch menu boasts the usual heavy hitters like omelets, steak & eggs, and French toast, but as scrapple lovers, we go for the Scrapple Club – country scrapple, bacon, fried egg, cheddar cheese and tomato on wheat berry toast served with home fries.

Flying Fish Café

300 Coastal Highway Unit 7, Fenwick Island, DE

302-581-0217

For the sushi-loving mama, head to Fenwick to the adorable yet dangerously delicious Flying Fish Café. We stumbled across this gem last winter and have been huge fans ever since. The sushi is inventive, the drinks equally artful, and the ambiance ideal for a Mother’s Day celebration. We couldn’t possibly pick a favorite maki roll off of this menu so you’re on your own here. The good news is we haven’t been disappointed with a roll from Flying Fish yet, and considering how many times we’ve been, we are confidant you won’t be disappointed either. Not a raw fish lover? No worries, there are plenty of other items to delve into.

Fager’s Island

201 60th Street, Ocean City, MD

410-524-5500

www.fagers.com

We’ve got our eye on Fager’s Island for Mother’s Day Brunch. Between the view, the live jazz music, and the outstanding brunch menu, this one is a no-brainer. The weather is looking perfect for this Sunday, so opt for a table outside on the deck. The menu offerings are inventive, with the likes of French brie and asparagus tip omelets, filet mignon eggs benedict, and blueberry-ricotta pancakes. Of course it wouldn’t be brunch without a Bloody Mary or a few mimosas…don’t worry the bartenders at Fager’s know how to mix the perfect cocktail.

Fish Tales

22nd Street Bayside, Ocean City, MD

410-289-0990

www.ocfishtales.com

For the mamas out there who will be celebrating with their younger kids, Fish Tales is a perfect pick with their massive pirate ship playground. Moms can relax in the sun with a cool cocktail while the kids enjoy a little playtime. The menu is adult and kid friendly so everyone wins. Come for lunch or enjoy a sunset dinner – Fish Tales boasts some of the best sunset views in OCMD.

The Atlantic Hotel

2 N. Main Street, Berlin, MD

410-641-3589

http://www.atlantichotel.com/

Berlin admittedly slows down significantly on Sundays with Blacksmith, Rayne’s Reef and Baked all shutting their doors for the day of rest. Fortunately for those of us who frequent the small town’s dining scene, The Atlantic Hotel is always a viable option. The warm weather means the outdoor seating has returned, and just in time for a Mother’s Day lunch or dinner! Fish tacos are our main go-to here, but the talented staff is always cooking up something delicious. Hint: try the blueberry crush. It’s our new drink of choice for summer 2015;)

Catch 54

38919 Madison Avenue, Fenwick Island, DE

302-436-8600

www.catch54.com

Dinner with a view is what’s on special at Catch 54. We love all of the SoDel Concepts restaurants, but Catch 54 was the first of the empire that we visited (many years ago). The spot is still a favorite and is sure to impress your deserving mama. For entrees, the short rib French dip, pan seared scallops, and shrimp & grits are particularly delectable.

Difebo’s

Two locations: Bethany Beach & Rehoboth

www.difebos.com

DiFebo’s recently opened their second location in Rehoboth, so whether you plan on dining in Bethany OR Rehoboth come Mother’s Day, DiFebo’s has you covered. For a Mother’s Day brunch, the breakfast menu is impressive, to say the least, with farm fresh eggs and omelets, bakery and pastry items, waffles, and egg sandwiches. Dinner is equally as delicious, with authentic Italian offerings like the homemade ravioli of the day. For a celebration at home, opt for the Family Style To-Go Menu, which feeds 8 to 10.

Ocean Pines Farmers Market

239 Ocean Parkway, Ocean Pines, MD

410-641-7717

For the ambitious individual, there’s also the option to cook a meal at home on Mother’s Day. The Ocean Pines Farmer’s Market has it all…dog treats, desserts, fresh flowers, breads, local produce and more. All the makings of a perfect Mother’s Day breakfast, lunch or dinner are available at the farmers market, simply pick a recipe, do a little local shopping, and get to work.

The Hobbit

121 81st Street, Ocean City, MD

410-524-8100

www.thehobbitrestaurant.com

For a Mother’s Day primed with a stunning view or a perfect spring sunset, we suggest heading uptown in Ocean City to The Hobbit Restaurant. The Hobbit reopened for the season a few weeks ago and we were quick to get back into one of our favorite dining spots for a cocktail and a bar snack. For Mother’s Day however, we suggest making reservations for a table and going all out with appetizers, entrees, desserts and a bottle of wine. A few of our staple favorites are the pan-roasted duck breast and the lemon-basil encrusted salmon.  For dessert, it has to be Mary’s Delight. An old Hobbit favorite, the house specialty starts with a crushed walnut crust topped with sweetened cream cheese, chocolate pudding and homemade whipped cream.
