Last week, we outlined a few locally-inspired Mother’s Day gifts to get you started in the shopping process. This week we’re presenting you with a few of our favorite spots for Mother’s Day dining on Delmarva, including brunch, lunch, and dinner options in Berlin, Ocean City, Fenwick Island, Rehoboth, and Salisbury. From the low key all-you-can-eat crab feast to award-wining fine dining, it’s time to make your plans for spoiling the mamas in your life this Sunday!
101 81st Street, Ocean City
If you’re looking to dazzle mom with an incredible meal and an epic sunset, The Hobbit is your choice. Of course their Mother’s Day specials only serve to sweeten the entire experience, with Mother’s Day specials that include chicken marsala ($17.95), shrimp & grits ($18.95), pan roasted salmon ($19.95), brasserie style steak ($20.95), crab cake ($19.95), stuffed flounder ($20.95), and complimentary dessert for all moms!
Dunes Manor Hotel & Suites

At the Dunes Manor in Ocean City, Mother’s Day marks the perfect excuse to enjoy a splendid brunch buffet in the Victorian Room Restaurant, which includes sweeping views of the beach and ocean. The Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet will be available from 10am until 2pm this Sunday, with seatings at 10, 12, and 2. Price is $37.95 per person and includes a fresh fruit display, breakfast breads and donuts, various salads, peel & eat shrimp, raw oysters on the half shell, smoked salmon display, omelet station, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, turkey, farfalle pasta, pan seared chicken breast, grilled salmon with chimichurri, carved prime rib, and pecan encrusted pork loin.
213 N. Fruitland Blvd., Fruitland
If you really want to wow mom this year, opt for a brunch reservation at Restaurant 213 in Fruitland. Located just outside of Salisbury, this fine dining establishment has been a long-time favorite of ours, and has often been a Mother’s Day destination too. The menu is exceptional to say the least, thanks to owner and executive chef Jim Hughes, whose experience and list of awards and accolades is unparalleled. Restaurant 213’s most recent nod came from OpenTable, which analyzed more than 5 million reviews from over 20,000 restaurants across the country, selecting Restaurant 213 as one of America’s Best.
12 Broad Street, Berlin
For a Mother’s Day celebration in Berlin, The Globe will be offering their Sunday Brunch as usual, with a few specials just for mom. Sunday Brunch at The Globe also means live music on the stage, as well as plenty of George’s Mix Bloody Mary’s. The brunch menu is always changing at The Globe, so expect fresh options each week. Reservations are highly recommended for any brunch outing at The Globe, Mother’s Day included.
Smoker’s BBQ Pit
9711 Stephen Decatur Highway, West Ocean City
OK, so this is admittedly a wild card in the lineup, but now that Smoker’s BBQ Pit is open again, we know of several moms who are just as excited as we are to get their fix from the West OC hotspot. If the weather is nice, place a take-out order and treat mom to a picnic at her favorite spot, whether it’s the beach, a park, or her recently landscaped backyard (hint, hint dads). Selections on the menu are varied, with everything from smoked salmon chunks, to fried chicken, to pit BBQ sandwiches. Of course the sides are a meal within themselves…as is the homemade banana pudding!
2000 Coastal Highway Unit 102, Dewey Beach
In Dewey Beach, there’s a new contender on the block, The Starboard Raw. Located across the street from The Starboard, it’s the perfect place to take the mama who loves oysters, craft beer, and seafood. The raw bar is stocked with a variety of oysters, including Chincoteagues, Tomboys, and Rip Tides. Of course there are plenty of oyster shooters as well, along with raw clams, and a sampling of steamed items. On the regular menu you’ll find smoked oysters, clams casino, crab pretzel, and Sussex County fried green tomatoes, to name a few. The cocktails and craft beer menus are equally as tantalizing, with plenty of options for your deserving mom to kick back and enjoy.
35 Baltimore Avenue, Rehoboth Beach
When Delaware Magazine heralded Blue Moon as the ‘Best Brunch’, we had to taste for ourselves…and we certainly weren’t disappointed. For Mother’s Day, brunch will run from 10am until 2pm with $5 signature Bloody Mary’s and $5 mimosas. The brunch menu is brimming with delicious options, including the Smithfield Pit Ham Steak, with includes scrambled cage free eggs, hash browns, and Vermont cheddar fondue. The Bread Pudding French Toast showcases fresh bananas, toasted almonds, banana custard, Vermont maple syrup and smoked bacon. For the veggie loving mama, there’s the Veggie Scramble, which includes a healthy mix of green onions, zucchini, tomato, goat cheese, hash browns, and baby greens. The morning is complemented with entertainment by Pamala Stanley.
Summerhouse Bar & Restaurant
228 Rehoboth Avenue, Rehoboth Beach
If the weather cooperates, taking mom for a stroll (paired with a little shopping of course) through Downtown Rehoboth is the perfect way to spend the day. We also suggest making plans to dine at Summerhouse, which will be offering both a brunch buffet and an a la carte brunch menu. The brunch buffet will be available from 10am until 3pm and is $24.95 for adults and $12.95 for kids. The buffet menu includes homemade soup, salad, fruit & yogurt, spinach & artichoke dip, artisan cheese display, crab deviled eggs, bacon & sausage, homemade quiche, creamed chipped beef, pancakes, crawfish etoufee, Scottish salmon, grilled asparagus, a carving station with ham and prime rib, and Maggie’s pastries & desserts. The a la carte menu will also be available from 10am until 3pm, with options such as the crab & asparagus omelet and the steak frites.
Route 1, Fenwick Island
For the no muss, no fuss mama that just wants to be treated to breakfast and then left alone for the rest of the day, we suggest hitting up Jimmy’s Kitchen in Fenwick Island. It’s one of those beloved breakfast joints that serves all your favorites with a good, strong cup of coffee. The friendly, family-style restaurant is a local’s favorite for a reason, so if you haven’t been, be ready to add it to your list of go-to breakfast joints!
The Crab Bag
13005 Coastal Highway, Ocean City
Because nothing says I love you like an epic crab feast! Another excellent option for this year’s Mother’s Day is a family outing to The Crab Bag for all-you-can-eat crabs. Their steamed crabs are consistently heavy, packing the sweetest meat and arriving with fries, corn-on-the-cob, and cole slaw. There are other feast options as well, which include ribs and wings. That’s not all, their menu is massive, with sandwiches, appetizers, entrees, and more, so there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy.
