If you want to bring in the 2017 New Year with a bang (and some water), join Atlantic General Hospital in their 23rd Annual Penguin Swim on New Year’s Day, January 1st 2017!

If you are feeling brave enough to dip your flippers in the chilly Atlantic Ocean for a great cause, then this event is for you! The Atlantic General Hospital Foundation is inviting individuals and teams to participate in this fun annual event to support the non-profit local hospital, giving Atlantic General the support to continue to provide quality care to the local community.

Registration for this event takes place between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Princess Royale Hotel in Ocean City, MD. Make sure to get there early enough to register! Sixteen teams have already registered for this event and more are joining every day. The main event starts at 1 p.m. with plenty of fun family activities in between like carnival games, face painting, mermaids and more.

In this chilly and arctic themed event, special recognition awards will be given to oldest and youngest penguins as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies to participants who raise the most money in divisions for individuals—adults and 18 & under, and teams—businesses, community groups/organizations, and 18 & under. The prizes don’t stop there! The person with the best costume will also be awarded with a prize. Based on individual fundraising efforts, additional prizes can be earned.

All penguins will also receive a 2017 AGH Penguin swim short sleeve t-shirt for their $25 registration fee.  So get your tails ready for this amazing event and register today! For more information visit https://aghpenguinswim.org.
