The Waterfowl Festival is once again coming to Easton on November 10 – 12. This event combines tradition, conservation and arts for a quintessential Eastern Shore weekend. Galleries and exhibits will be open, showcasing the work of many esteemed artists. There will be opportunities to purchase collector pieces during this event.
Throughout the weekend outdoor enthusiasts will also be able to enjoy fly fishing, raptor and retriever demonstrations. Along with the retriever demonstrations, the Dock Dogs will also be making an appearance. On Friday, there will be a Veteran’s Day Recognition Ceremony. Attendees will also have the opportunity to try their hand at creating a work of art by joining a paint party. Don’t forget to take a break in the Wine Pavilion and Craft Brew Pub and grab some food from one of the vendors . Every food vendor participating in the Waterfowl Festival is a non-profit or donating proceeds to a non-profit.
Children are also welcome at the Waterfowl Festival. There will be a kids’ fishing derby and art activities, including the opportunity to paint a decoy. Children 10 and under also receive free admission to the festival.
There are many events going on over the weekend, but one thing that cannot be missed is the World Championship Goose and Duck Calling event. This competition draws participants from around the world. This event is not only impressive, but also highly entertaining.
Each year, the Waterfowl Festival selects a featured artist to create an exclusive signature piece for the festival. This year’s featured artist is Julia Rogers. Julia lives in Easton and is the first female featured artist for the Waterfowl Festival. For the event she created a beautiful painting titled “The Long Stretch”. Julia will also be showcasing a number of other pieces at the festival.
The Waterfowl Festival admission is $20 for a three day ticket. You can view an event map for the weekend before you arrive to plan out parking and your route.
