One of the great things about living on the Eastern Shore is getting to experience all of the fun family-friendly events throughout town. Carnivals, festivals, fairs, you name it! Wicomico County, Maryland is gearing up for their annual Wicomico County fair located in Salisbury, MD. Celebrating 82 years of Fair Traditions, the Wicomico Farm is teaming up with Wicomico County to prolong the tradition!
This three day event takes place August 17-19, 2018 at Winterplace Park Equestrian Center in Salisbury, MD. There is something fun for all ages! This fair will offer tons of fun activities including games, animals, home arts, entertainment, auctions and of LOTS of competitions!
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! Bring your running shoes with you because there will be a Chase the Chicken 3K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday August 18– you are bound to get a lot of exercise! Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the race will kick-off at 9 a.m. The Chase the Chicken 3K allows runners to outrun a chicken and beat them to the finish line. Winners will receive a complimentary chicken dinner so don’t forget to register before the event for $20 as on-site registration is $25. Plus, children 5 and under are free with the purchase of an adult registration!
There is a costume contest for more prizes! Awards are given to “Best Farmer” and “Best Egg” so you are encouraged to bring your creativity to the chicken coop!
There are plenty of categories where patrons can enter their work in at the Wicomico County Fair including flowers, clothing, photography and so much more! If you’d like to showcase your products, be sure to enter here!
