Put your running (or “trotting” as some may call it) shoes on and get ready to counteract those Thanksgiving mashed potatoes, gravy, and pumpkin pie! We’ve put together a list of various 5Ks, walks, and races throughout the Eastern Shore happening on and a few days after the holiday!
Turkey Trek 5K
Run along Pemberton Historical Park’s nature trails through forests, wetlands, and meadows. Early registration is $25. After November 19, registration is on-site for $30. You are guaranteed a race shirt if you register by November 1, and can purchase a long-sleeved shirt for an additional $5.

5th Annual Turkey Trot 5K
This race/walk sponsored by Body & Soul Fitness & Spa is $25 to register when you sign up before November 15 and $30 from November 16 until the day of the event. Registration begins at 8am. Kids race is free! Every race participant will receive a Turkey Trot 5K t-shirt, and there will be free snacks and beverages available after the race.

5th Annual Gabby Gobble 5K
Proceeds from the event will go towards the mission of The Get Well Gabby Foundation to help children who are diagnosed with cancer to get well. Pre-registration, which will include a unisex t-shirt, costs $30 and is available until November 19 at noon. Kiddie Run registration is online only until 12:00 pm Monday, November 19 for $10; all participants will receive a medal. Regular registration on November 21 up until the event is $35 and does not include a shirt.

The Y Turkey Trot Charity 5K(s)
The YMCA hosts various Thanksgiving races throughout the Eastern Shore and Maryland. Races are open to all ages. Everyone can walk, run, or stroll the 3.1-mile course.

The Green Turtle Turkey Trot 5K
Registration is $25, ending November 21 at 11:59 pm. Registration includes a tech shirt, post-race refreshments, and an awards ceremony.

16th Sea Colony Turkey Trot 5k
Pre-register for $25 up until Friday, November 16. Registration the week- and day-of is $30. The first 150 participants to sign up receive a race t-shirt. Refreshments and an award ceremony will follow the race at the Sea Colony Fitness Center. Awards will be presented to the Overall, Masters, and top three finishers in age groups from 9 & Up to 80 & over.
