Wellness Made Easy is a health literacy collaboration between Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC), Salisbury University’s Business Economic and Community Outreach Network (BEACON), United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore (UWLES) and Wicomico Public Libraries aimed to help access, process and understand health information so individuals can make informed health decisions and achieve optimal health for themselves and their families.

As a part of the Wellness Made Easy program, The Wicomico Public Libraries, in conjunction with PRMC and UWLES, is proud to announce the new Wellness Made Easy library collection. The collection’s books and DVDs are designed to meet the diverse needs of those seeking additional information about their own or a loved one’s health. Moreover, this initiative’s goal is to increase health literacy across the Lower Shore. Library staff selected the initial resources, but the public is encouraged to suggest additional materials in an effort to make this as comprehensive and inclusive as possible. Patrons can find this highlighted collection on a four-sided red rack in the Downtown Library’s upper lobby from September 2019 through March 2020 and in its permanent location in the adult department. Pittsville and Centre branch users will also find similar resources at those locations. Please stop by and check them out! Additionally, Wicomico Public Libraries is helping to facilitate expanding the collection to the public libraries in Dorchester, Somerset, and Worcester counties.
