The Eastern Shore is a pretty cool place to live. We live in a place where thousands of people spend their summer vacations each year. Hidden in our coastal towns are restaurants that serve the most delicious meals, great live entertainment, amazing amusements, and people we couldn’t live without. We want to know who you think is the best! Take part in ShoreBread’s Best of the Coast 2013! We’re showcasing the best of Ocean City, Ocean Pines, Berlin, Fenwick, Dewey, Bethany, Rehoboth, Lewes, and surrounding areas. Cast your vote today!
Several months’ worth of random polling resulted in lists of the top six businesses, organizations, personalities, or places in more than 50 different categories. Throughout 2013, each month will be devoted to one category: 11 categories total plus one month of recapping the best. In December, 2013, ShoreBread will announce the winners!

January – Heath & Wellness Month
Vote for your favorite salon, spa, gym, health food store, or holistic care business.
February – Home Improvement Month
Vote for your favorite interior designer, home renovator, custom home builder, furniture store, or landscaper.
March – A Month of Events
Vote for your favorite festival, holiday event, kid-friendly event, formal event, and best venue.
April – Hotel Month
Vote for your favorite hotel on the coast. Categories include ocean front, bayside, kid-friendly, pet-friendly, and hotel best suited for couples.
May – Attractions
Vote for your favorite coastal attractions.
June – Restaurant Month
Vote for a slew of the Eastern Shore’s best restaurants.
July – Best Bars
Vote for your favorite bars along the coast.
August – Shopping Month
Just in time for back-to-school! Vote for your favorite retail stores on the coast. Categories will be separated into best outlet center, small business, souvenir store, clothing shop, and jewelry store.
September – Best Local Musicians & Artists
Vote for that musician you can’t get enough of or the local artists whose work covers the walls in your home. Categories will be separated into best local band, solo musician, photographer, painter, or mixed media artist.
October – Best Museums and History Resource
Vote for your favorite museums, historical property, historical society, or art league in the area.
November – Philanthropic Awards
Who helps? Vote for the best nonprofit, cause, individual, or business that makes a positive contribution to our local communities.
When voting over the next few months, there will also be a way to enter a write-in business, organization, or individual who isn’t already on our Best of list. Why? We want to know if there is someone we’ve missed. You can write your opinion in the ‘Other’ box if you so desire. But, there are a few guidelines. That write-in must have a website and must be a validated business or organization. We don’t want to receive any off-the-wall entries.
Come December, we’ll reopen all of the polls for a few weeks of last-minute voting. Before New Year’s, we’ll announce all of the winners!
The goal of ShoreBread’s Best of the Coast campaign is to award those businesses, organizations, and individuals who always go above and beyond what is expected of them. We want to award those who really do stand out and do a more than terrific job at what they do. We’re looking for the best of the best.
