It’s here… the weather, the darkness… yep, we can feel winter slowly creeping its way onto the Eastern Shore We haven’t gone into seasonal depression just yet, after all we still have the holidays to enjoy. But with the sun setting around 4:30PM and waking up in the morning to it being 48 degrees, we’re quickly on our way. But not before the busy months of November and December pass us by. This chilly November weekend is no exception, so make your plans – this is one you can’t miss out on! Time to get into the holiday spirit, y’all.
Eastern Shore Classic Dog Show
Wicomico Youth and Civic Center, November 5th – 9th
The Talbot County Kennel Club, The Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club and the Mispillion Kennel Club have joined together to bring you five full days of dog shows at one venue. The event will take place from 8:30AM to 4:30PM daily and will feature a Best in Show award daily. This is for all you four legged dog lovers; there will be tons of talent at this event!
4th Annual Cocoa Crawl
Downtown Rehoboth Beach, November 7th
This popular event takes place every November to get the downtown area residents ready for the holiday season. Their motto: wine, dine and shop local! You can enjoy drinks and art by Delaware’s artisans, along with desserts and fall treats from the area’s best restaurants. All of the Downtown Rehoboth stores participate and it’s only $10 for a wristband that benefits local charities. The event begins at 5PM and goes until 8PM.
Rock the River Music Festival
Sturgis Park, November 8th
The Snow Hill Chamber of Commerce is so excited to present the first ever Rock the River Music Festival… attend and be a part of a great history! The event goes from 12PM to 10PM and is filled with music, beer/wine, vendors, food, sidewalk sales and street performers. Some of the entertainment includes: Opposite Directions, Matt Watson Band, Johnny Bling and Juke Joint Jonny. BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR and enjoy a sunny, fall day alongside the river.
Fallfest of Fine Arts & Annual Christmas Craft Expo
OC Convention Center, November 8th – 9th
It’s another great convention at our beloved community center, but this time we’re celebrating all of the things the holiday season offers us! The event will begin at 10AM and go until 4PM Saturday and Sunday. There will be talented sculptors, fine art painters and artisans displayed at the show and ton of buying opportunities for unique gifts. Admission is $5.
Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival
Multiple Locations, November 5th -9th
The Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival is a 5-day event which presents approximately 75 of the best American and international independent films including features, documentaries, and shorts. In addition to the screening of the movies, there are seminars which provide a unique experience for audiences to interact. Attendees may enjoy a variety of special activities in the Big Tent adjacent to the locations the movies are screened… at the Movies at Midway on Rt. 1 and Cape Henlopen High School Theatre.
Hero Day Walk 2014
Downtown Salisbury, Parking Lot 1, November 8th
This is a great event for you and your favorite four legged doggy friend! Your registration benefits the Warrior Canine Connection, which aids in enlisting recovering warriors in a therapeutic mission of learning to train service dogs for their fellow veterans. One dog can help as many as 60 warriors recover from the stress of combat. The event begins at 10:30AM to 12:30PM.
