While we all love cracking open those fresh crabs, dipping our steamed jumbo shrimp into some cocktail sauce, and cutting into that crab-stuffed flounder, Phillips Seafood Restaurants’ Crab House located on 21st St. in Ocean City is bringing something new to the table this summer. Since 1956, the business has been thriving off of authentic recipes that have been passed down through generations, winning the 2015 Best of Ocean City Award for the Best Seafood. Now, Phillips is offering an All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast Buffet!
We had the pleasure of meeting with Executive Chef and Assistant General Manager Randy Stanley, as well as Phillips’ Corporate Director of Marketing Michelle Torres, to discuss the rundown of the buffet. Bringing in new equipment and perfecting recipes and cooking strategies are only a few of the steps Phillips Crab House has taken toward making this Breakfast Buffet one that will leave an impact on Ocean City vacationers and locals.
Executive Chef Stanley, who has been with Phillips since 1988, plans to make this buffet as impressionable and unforgettable as the Crab House’s Dinner Buffet has been throughout the past decades. “Our goal is to make people want to come back because the food is fresh and unlike any other breakfast spot in town. The typical process of a buffet includes a ‘holding’ period where the food sits under a warmer before it’s brought out. We want to eliminate that holding period and bring the food straight from the kitchen to the buffet.”
Not only will the food be fresh, but also affordable! All-you-can-eat breakfast for Adults $14.99, Children 5-12 $8.00, and Children 4 & under are free.
The Breakfast Buffet hours will be from 8am-11:30am. While Ocean City is filled with restaurants that serve breakfast, those delicious eggs and hash browns usually come with a cost– in more ways than one. It’s common to have a 10-20 minute wait to be seated, especially on weekend mornings during peak season.
Along with fair and affordable prices, Phillips Crab House has seating to accommodate about 300 people for the Breakfast Buffet to eliminate that wait time. It is also perfect for large parties, accepting reservations and call-aheads.
Stop in and enjoy all-you-can-eat delicious Brioche French Toast, Spinach & Feta Frittata, Order-to-Eat Omelets, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Fresh Fruit, Assorted cereals, pastries, and much more. To top it off, during the buffet House Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas are $3.50!
The weekend of June 10th-11th was their soft open trial run with the breakfast foods, receiving positive feedback.
