If you’ve been thinking about adding a “furry friend” to you family, the Worcester County Humane Society’s annual Open House and Rescue Festival may be just what you’re looking for! Saturday, October 15th, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., the no-kill shelter will open its doors to prospective adopters to show off all of the sweet dogs and cats that are looking for good homes. The Rescue festival will also feature local artists, vendors, dog trainers and a bake sale!

The shelter is also teaming up with Channel 47, WMDT for a one-day “Pick a Pal” adoption day, featuring special one-day-only adoption specials. But, don’t wait until the last minute to get your applications approved. Those interested in adopting one of the many deserving animals are encouraged to have their applications pre-approved to help speed up the process (adoptions take approximately 48 hours).

The fun filled day will also feature free fitness mini-classes hosted by Pure Power Studio – Aerial Fitness & Dance, and a bake sale to help raise money to support the shelter. Plus, K9 Heeling Precision Dog Training will be on hand to answer training questions and offer helpful hints to potential adopters.

The event is open to the public and free of charge. Organizers are also looking for additional vendors who would like to take part in the days’ activities. Anyone interested in becoming a vendor for the Open House email ashleyworcestercohumanesociety@gmail.com.

Stop by to see some of the many improvements made to the shelter, enjoy the festivities…and maybe you’ll find your next forever friend!
