We all know that beer can be a great pick-me-up after a long work week. Today, April 7th, we are celebrating National Beer Day! The Eastern Shore has plenty of great local breweries that provide us delightful, different and delicious brews that are to die for. The Shorebread team has crafted (pun definitely intended) a list of some of our top breweries on the Eastern Shore. Who is your favorite?!

3rd Wave Brewing Co. is located in Delmar, DE and is also the only all female owned brewery in Delaware and Maryland. 3rd Wave is always about giving their customers and friends a fun time! They usually offer 14 beers on tap including 1st Wave IPA, Shorebreak, and Big Reed Porter. Their tasting room is open every day and they even have a food truck on the weekends! Backshore Brewing Co. is Ocean City, MD’s first brewery on the beach which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean on 10th street and the Boardwalk. Backshore Brewing Co. in OCMD provides their guests with a vintage VW bus, an open outdoor patio, and a great view. This brewery embodies the “shorebilly” lifestyle by offering alcoholic “Hoop Tea” and celebrates local culture through innovative beers such as Downtown Sugar Brown, Boardwalk Blonde, and Brozaic IPA. Big Oyster Brewing Company in Rehoboth Beach, DE is sure to offer up a good time! They are known for their high-quality craft beer including East Coast and West Coast IPAs, Bavarian and Belgian Wheat Beers, and German and American Lagers. Big Oyster is located within Fin’s Ale House and Raw Bar so wash down their delicious food with their craft beer! Dewey Beer Co., located in Dewey Beach, DE offers daily, fresh handcrafted beer from IPA Batch 15 & 16 and Oatmeal Stout on NITRO to Witty Reference and Our Friend. The great thing about Dewey Beer Co. is they have free parking and happy hour from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Who wouldn’t want to have the beach and a brew in the same place at the same time?! Evolution Craft Brewing Co. located in Salisbury, MD will not disappoint with their top-notch craft beer and out of this world cuisine. Evolution Craft Brewing Co. offers plenty of tasteful craft beer that will have you coming back for more. They feature beers such as Lot 3 IPA, Lucky 7 Porter, and Rise Up Stout. If you want to pair your cold brew with some food for fuel, they have a delectable menu including items such as Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Drunken Mussels and a variety of fresh salads! Fin City Brewing Company is one of Ocean City’s oldest breweries located right on the bay! All of their beers honor the fishing industry that has made what OCMD is today. They make sure to celebrate the heritage by crafting homemade balanced beers that are unique just like the fish under the sea. Fordham & Dominon Brewing Co., located in Dover, DE has believed in two things since they got started in 1995: the beer they make and the people who drink them!
