Craft beer lovers all over the shore–rejoice!  Hooper’s Crab House’s exterior space is about to turn into your Mecca.  The 3rd Annual Brews on the Beach Craft Beer Festival is just days away—September 10th, from 1-6pm.  Get your taste buds ready, the festival features over 100 craft beers and ales, including standout local breweries.

Evolution Craft Brewery, based in Delmar, DE has garnered plenty of local buzz.  Brewer Tommy Knorr is known for his passionate approach to craft brewing.  Look for their Jaques Au Lantern brew as part of the pumpkin category.

Former Colorado brewery Flying Dog, now making its home in Maryland, is back again.  At last year’s brew fest, Flying Dog’s most popular ale Raging Bitch, was perhaps the most talked about of the festival…due to the taste, and the risqué name.  From the Flying Dogs themselves, “We produce world-class craft beers and continue to push the envelope with experimental brews and limited-edition one-offs… …Most importantly, we have a lot of fun doing it. And we never take ourselves too seriously.”

Local to the Delaware shore area, Sam Calagione and Dogfish Head Brewery out of Milton, DE, bring their quirky and massively successful brews to the festival.   Dogfish Head is extremely well known, thanks in part to the Discovery Channel series Brewmasters that follows Calagione around the world as he sources ingredients and recipes to produce their diversely delicious Ancient Ales.   Dogfish’s motto “off-centered ales for off-centered people,” speaks to the mindset appreciated by legions of loyal craft brew lovers.

Look for these local breweries, and over twenty others, featuring over 100 craft beers and ales, at the 3rd annual Brews on the Beach.  Taking place this Saturday September 10th from 1-6pm in the outside tent at Hooper’s Crab House, West Ocean City.  Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door and include unlimited sampling.  A portion of the ticket price benefits Worcester County Youth and Family Services.   The first 500 people receive 3rd annual BOTB tasting glasses.
