We hate to rush past Christmas into the New Year, but with New Year’s Eve invites piling up, it’s time to face the issue head on and figure out where to ring in 2014. For those of you who won’t be attending house parties or joining the masses in Times Square, there are plenty of festive options at some of our favorite establishments on the Eastern Shore. Watch the ball drop in downtown Berlin, dance the night away at Seacrets or countdown to the New Year at Brew River in Salisbury. Let the countdown begin!

Each year, crowds descend on Seacrets in full force for a dance party of epic proportions. From 5pm until 7pm cover charge is $30 and $40 after 8pm (cover charge will not exceed $40). For entertainment, there’s Full Circle, DJ Davie, Face Parade, DJ Mike T and High Five at the Tiki Bar; The Benderz, DJ Tuff, and Ultrafuze in the Club; and DJ Bob at the Main Bar. All dining is reservation only – to make reservations call Christine or Caitlin at 410-524-4900. The NYE dinner menu is extensive, with appetizers including staple favorites like jerk chicken, roasted veggie flatbread with goat cheese, or pan seared garlic and rosemary lollipop lamb chops with a honey cider glaze. For entrees, think chicken Chesapeake, French pork chops or vegetarian Shepard’s pie.

The middle seating will be $75 per person and the late seating is $85 per person (plus alcoholic beverages, taxes and gratuities). Bar & Deck tickets are $40 per person – middle and late diners are invited to participate in the bar and deck festivities at no additional charge. DJ Rob Cee will be kicking the party off on the deck at 9pm, with Jumper set to go on the main stage at 10pm.
The closest thing we have to the Times Square celebration on the Eastern Shore happens in #mdscoolestsmalltown. Berlin will transform into a mini Times Square again this year with dancing in the streets, music, fabulous food, refreshments and plenty of entertainment. The festivities take place at the intersection of Main Street and Broad Street. Horse and carriage rides will also be available starting at 8pm for a romantic tour of holiday decorations and lights. And don’t forget to purchase a raffle ticket for your chance to win a 2013 Chevy Cruze, LS. The event begins at 8pm.
