It’s another fun October weekend here on the Shore and we’re already counting the days until Friday. With last weekend pretty much rained out, we’re looking ahead and hoping for some beautiful fall weather! Friday and Saturday are looking hopeful with pure sun, blue skies and a high of 68 degrees. Just in time for the Autumn Wine Festival, a paddle boarding extravaganza and another one of America’s Coolest Small Town’s signature events. The middle of October never looked so good.
Berlin’s Oktoberfest

Another great event is happening in America’s Coolest Small Town… Berlin is hosting Oktoberfest on Saturday from 11AM until 4PM. Historic Downtown Berlin is hosting its 3rd Annual Autumnal Celebration stock full of beer, bratwurst, polka and all things German! Admission is free, with live entertainment and a beer garden fully furnished by Burley Oak Brewery.
Autumn Wine Festival

The Autumn Wine Festival is another popular October event taking place at Pemberton Park in Salisbury, Maryland. The Autumn Wine Festival hosts tons of favorite local wineries. Some of the wineries include Basignani, Boordy Vineyards, Mark Cascia Vineyards, Cove Point Winery, Dragonfly Vineyard, Elk Run Winery, Far Eastern Shore Winery, Fridays Creek Winery, Knob Hall Winery, Layton’s Chance, Slack Winery and Soloman’s Winery just to name a few. The event goes from Saturday 11AM until 5PM with the same times on Sunday. In addition to the wineries, there will be tons of food vendors, art and craft vendors and great entertainment.
Octoberfest: Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade

Show off your favorite four-legged friends at this fun pet-friendly event. The parade starts at 2PM with registration at 1PM the day of. The parade is at North Division Street, dress up your pets and parade the boards or sit back, relax and cheer for your favorite! There will prizes and surprises awarded and the event is free to participate. Donations of pet supplies and money will be collected for the Worcester County Humane Society.
ACToberfest Paddlemania

Assateague Coastal Trust will hold its 2nd Annual Paddlemania at Castaways RV Resort and Campground in West Ocean City. The event is a celebration of our local waterways and features live music, local food, paddling events, children’s activities and lots more! The event begins at 3PM and goes until 10PM. There will be daytime paddling forays to observe the Bay, evening paddling jaunts to see the bioluminescent beauty, a dinner buffet featuring chicken, local crabs and clams and organic veggies. There will be local beers, a beach bonfire, dancing and onsite camping options.
Julia A. Purnell Museum: Fiber Fest

Julia A. Purnell is holding its annual textile arts festival to take place on the museum grounds on Market Street in Downtown Snow Hill from 10AM to 4PM. Knitters, crocheters, quilters, weavers and spinners will display a wide array of specialty supplies available for purchase. This is the perfect time for holiday shopping.
ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Walk/Run
October 18th
This is a fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society and is a great opportunity for everyone to walk or run to honor breast cancer survivors, remember loved ones, and raise awareness. The event caters to everyone by having a competitive run and then a regular walk, the walk is free, but there is a registration fee for the run. Following the race there will be awards and refreshments at the staging area in the Inlet Lot. The route is from the pier to 15th Street and back.
