This week, we decided to get out and explore the neighboring county of Sussex County, Delaware. We spend a fare amount of time in the First State, whether it’s to take advantage of the tax-free shopping, to visit their pristine beaches, or to explore their state parks. We’ve attended several Southern Delaware events lately as well, including the Southern Delaware Food, Wine and Music Festival, the Sea Witch Festival, and the Apple Scrapple Festival. Keeping in line with our recent adventures through Southern Delaware, we decided to embark on a two-day journey through Sussex County, starting off with a tour through Milford, Bridgeville, and Seaford. A stop of T.S. Smith & Sons for some fresh produce and apple cider donuts was a must, as was lunch at Abbott’s Grille in Milford followed by some insanely delicious sweet treats and coffee from Dolche (also in Milford). Perhaps our favorite part however was the beautiful scenery of the farmland that dominated our drive. To live in an area with so much natural beauty is a rare and wonderful thing – just one more reason why we love calling Delmarva home. Enjoy the photos and stay tuned for the next leg of our trip, which includes a tour of the Dogfish Head Brewery.
