The Restaurant Association of Maryland announced the finalists in the 2016 Stars of the Industry Awards Finalists recently, which just so happened to include several of our favorite local establishments! Each year, the statewide Stars of the Industry Awards celebrates Maryland’s most elite restaurant and hospitality professionals, giving nod to businesses and individuals across the entire state. The winners are announced at the annual Stars of the Industry Awards Gala, which will take place on May 1. Let’s take a look at some of the local nominees shall we?
Restaurants and restauranteurs have been nominated in each of the following categories: Chef of the Year, Craft Brew Program of the Year, Favorite New Restaurant, Favorite Restaurant, Favorite Bar or Tavern, Heart of the Industry, and Wine and Beverage Program of the Year. There are also members-only categories, which include Allied Member of the Year, Restauranteur of the Year, Brice & Shirley Phillips Lifetime Industry Achievement Award, The Otto Schellhase Award, and the Hospitality Hall of Honor. Locally, we were thrilled to see the following Worcester County businesses making the final cut:
Pizza Tugos – nominated for Craft Brew Program of the Year
Bull on the Beach – nominated for Favorite Bar or Tavern
Liquid Assets Wine & Martini Bar – nominated for Wine and Beverage Program of the Year
Shenanigan’s Irish Pub & Grille – nominated for Hospitality Hall of Honor
