Father’s Day is this weekend, and we’re still looking for ways to show our Shorebread dads how much we care. We’ve rounded up a few options for dad to enjoy.
Beach Bum
Spending a day at the beach is great, but you could take it up a notch with surf lessons from Malibu’s Surf Shop. Dad is never too old to learn something new!
If dad prefers life at a slower pace, paddleboard rentals at Oyssea Watersports are a great option. We also have our eye on their pontoon boat rentals, too!
Alcohol Aficionado
For dad’s that love trying something new in the beer, wine and spirits world, there are tons of options. West O Bottle Shop has two tastings scheduled for Saturday, the 18th. The first features Palm Breeze Sparkling Spritz from 11am – 2pm, followed by Dogfish Head Small Batch Spirits from 4pm – 6pm.
Alternatively, did you know that Costa Ventosa, our local beloved winery, is now brewing their own beer? Come to the winery on Sunday, mention “Peanut” and receive a free pint of beer with the purchase of a beer tasting.
For those DIY dads, consider a beer, wine or cider making kit from Brews Up. If you’re not sure what dad would like, gift certificates are also available.
For the Dad That’s Ready for Adventure
Has dad always wanted to be a pilot? Ocean Aviation offers a Father’s Day Discovery Flight gift certificate that allows dad to take the controls and fly a Cessna aircraft under the guidance of a FAA Certified Flight Instructor. What a great experience!
Ayers Creek Adventures is offering dad a free paddle (kayak rental, forested wetlands tour or salt marsh tour) when paddling with at least one child (or adult child!) on Saturday the 18th or Sunday the 19th.
Classic Dad
The OC Air Show conveniently falls on Father’s Day, and we don’t know a dad out there that wouldn’t enjoy watching. Luckily, we just wrote a post about the best viewing locations.
Take a stroll down Somerset Plaza on Sunday to see the OC Cruzer car display. We highly suggest buying dad a tasty boardwalk treat while you’re there!
Live Harness Racing at Ocean Downs is also a fun way to spend Sunday evening with dad. Make bets, or just go see the races!
If dad is more of a BBQ kind of guy head over to 28th Street Pit & Pub on Sunday from 1pm – 9pm for their All You Can Eat Father’s Day Backyard BBQ featuring burgers, hotdogs, ribs and shrimp for just $19.99.
Daddy & Me
For those looking for Father’s Day fun with little ones, Wicomico Youth and Civic Center brings you T-Rex Planet. Immerse yourself in the Jurassic, Triassic and Cretaceous periods with animatronic dinosaurs, a fossil dig, dinosaur rides and more.
Delaware SeaSide Railroad Club opens their clubhouse from 10am – 3pm on Saturday to view their interactive train displays, and admission is free!
Happy Father’s Day!
