Put on your walking shoes…and step back in time with Rehoboth Beach Walking Tours, sponsored by the Rehoboth Beach Historical Society! The gentle 45 minute stroll around the downtown area gives participants a peek back into the events, storms and people who helped shape the Rehoboth Beach we know today.
Your guide will kick off your tour from the bandstand along Rehoboth Avenue-just look for her pink umbrella! Along the route, your guide with point out landmarks and share photos of historical sites and events. Topics covered include the Native peoples of the area, The Methodist Camp Meetings, Hotels and Railroad service, and Horn’s Pavilion. Your guide will also share the mysteries surrounding area shipwrecks, naming ships such as the Falmouth, the Merrimac, the Severn and the SS Thomas Tracy. They will also offer interesting facts about the railroad, the Belhaven Hotel, restaurants such as the Robert Lee, Snyder’s and, of course, Funland.
