Over the 4th of July weekend, we headed to Selbyville, DE for the ribbon cutting of the new Attics of My Life showroom. You might remember Ashley and Brad from our article back in April, where we first introduced them to our Shorebread followers. Well, since April, they’ve been busy prepping their new store for its launch.

The store features unique décor for sale. Each item for sale was carefully selected by Ashley. Turkish towels selected for the store actually came from Turkey. A local artist handcrafted one-of-a-kind artwork on antique paper. Totes made from recycled coffee sacks lined the walls. You can really tell how much painstaking work was put into just selecting the goods for sale.

The store also features a “DIY Room” where Ashley will teach the tricks of her trade (well, not all of them) to patrons wanting to learn how to refinish their own furniture. Ashley even intends to use the room for groups and parties wanting to imbibe some wine while handcrafting picture frames or other small projects. Attics of My Life is also one of the only Saltwash paint dealers in the area.

Ashley’s partner, Brad, focuses on the fabrication of exceptional pieces of furniture from reclaimed materials. In the back room, Brad was working on turning the side of an old boat into a light fixture for a customer to hang over their bar. The couple even salvaged the original Tortuga to use the wood in a future project (we’re just dying to see what awesome creation is born from those wood scraps!).

All in all, the couple is off to a great start! We really enjoyed browsing the quaint little shop full of unique goodies – and we can’t wait to see all the future creations that are sure to follow. You can learn more about the pair on their website here: http://www.atticsofmylifellc.com/
