What does the public library mean to you? We always knew that the library was a great outlet for books and research, but since becoming parents, we’ve learned that our local libraries offer so much more. We bet that you could read through this list and find at least five events that you weren’t aware of previously. Seriously, how many public places invite toddlers in for “Construction Zone” in which they can build, stack, and completely destroy the materials that are provided to them? It’s not all about the kiddos, though. There are many classes and events geared towards young adults and adults, in addition to a Job Search Center at the Downtown Library location on Main Street in Salisbury. We think that our local libraries truly have the greater good in mind for our communities and it’s evident here in the level of education and assistance that is offered. For that very reason, the library means community, knowledge, education and inspiration to the ShoreBread crew. So, the question still stands: what does the library mean to you? Venture out and learn more about what your local libraries have to offer. We suspect that you may walk away feeling pleasantly surprised.
