As avid Shorebread readers know, we love Brown Box Theatre Project and all the shows they bring to Delmarva. Enjoying a live performance outside while the sun sets in a casual atmosphere is a great way to spend an end-of-summer evening. Each year the group brings Delmarva free Shakespeare performances, and this summer, the group will be performing Hamlet.
Many of us know Shakespeare through our exposure in school, but to see it performed is an entirely different experience. Brown Box says the play “delves deep into the recesses of human consciousness in a raw and unforgiving examination of a treacherous political landscape and one Prince’s struggle with the weighty consequences of action, inaction, pain, numbness and the ever-terrifying unknown.” We can’t wait to see Brown Box’s take on this classic masterpiece.
Best of all, these performances are completely free, and you can even bring your own snacks. After the performance, meet the actors and consider donating a few dollars to show your support!
