We don’t know how strong we are until being strong is the only choice we have. With more than 2,000 cases per year, Women Supporting Women’s mission is to provide awareness, education, and support to all those affected by breast cancer.

Harriette Fine, Carol Prager and Sue Revelle started the group out of their homes in 1993 and have grown it to serve the entire Delmarva Peninsula since then. The group provides variety of services to breast cancer survivors, their friends and families. The services include informational tote bags for the ones affected by cancer, mentoring services, support group meetings, community education and awareness and many more. They also provide wigs, hats and scarves to survivors of all types of cancer, and automatic recliners for those recovering from double-mastectomies.

So Saturday, October 14th at 8:30 a.m. join the organization for their 16th Annual Walk for Awareness at Winterplace Park in Salisbury, MD. They will be raising money to provide further awareness, education, and support to all those affected by this crippling disease.

Men, women, and even their furry friends are welcome to take part in this 1-3 mile walk. There will be an array of different vendors, a symbolic dove release, and even a cool selfie station to take all of your flicks at!

Registration for this event is $25 for those who do so in advance and $30 for those who do not. This will include all kinds of goodies, one of them being lunch at the ever popular Texas Roadhouse!

To register your dog and loyal companion is just $5 and includes treats, a bandana, and plenty of water to keep them hydrated.

Your participation in this event goes a long way. The more we unite together, the quicker we can come up with a cure. We hope to see you there!
