Did you know October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM)? Throughout the entire month, major breast cancer charities like Women Supporting Women (WSW) strive to increase awareness of the disease and raise funds for research to improve its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure efforts. This annual campaign is to help educate women about the importance of early screening, tests, and more. We’ve gathered some information on their upcoming events!
High Heel Race Back To Chincoteague

Grab your high heels and get ready to race for NBCAM. Join the Women Supporting Women on October 6, 2018 at Maui Jack’s Waterpark in Chincoteague, VA for this year’s annual race. Participants will run the race course in their best pair of heels! Festivities begin at 12 PM, with the races beginning promptly at 1 PM. In addition, there will be a Special Guest: Magnolia Applebottom, Music, Vendors, Food Trucks, and more! Awards will be given for Overall winner, 1st Place Men/1st Place Women, Best strut, Media Celebrity. 17th Annual Walk for Awareness

Lace up your sneakers for the Women Supporting Women’s 17th Annual Walk for Awareness. Join the survivors, family members, and friends impacted by breast cancer at Winterplace Park on Saturday, October 13, 2018 to support the NBCAM. Help the WSW raise money to continue providing free services to breast cancer survivors on Delmarva. Registration begins at 8:30 AM and the walk at 10:00 AM. Awards will be given for top fundraising team, top fundraising individual, largest team, best-decorated team, and best-decorated dog. Registration has already started! Autumn Wine Festival

Join us for the two-day Autumn Wine Festival at Pemberton Historical Park in Salisbury, Maryland. There will be wine samplings from many Maryland wineries and delicious food you can indulge in while enjoying the fall weather! This festival is produced in partnership with the Maryland Wineries Association.
Women Supporting Women
The Women Supporting Women organization is still celebrating their 25th Anniversary! This local nonprofit organization was started 25 years ago in 1993 by three women. The WSW are dedicated to providing awareness, education, and support to all those who are affected by breast cancer. All of their services are FREE and serve the Delmarva community.
