Denise Clemons, Cape Gazette columnist of Cape Flavors, and the Rehoboth Beach Museum offer the opportunity to warm your heart and appetite February 1, at 4pm at the Museum. Clemons will present two prepared, delectable soups and will stage a demonstration of a third. Included in the presentation of each soup will be appropriate garnishes, such as: curry, nutmeg, crabmeat and Parmesan cheese to name a few. The soups will remain un-named for a bit of suspense. For fun and for better tasting soup we suggest you BYOS (bring your own spoon). Who wants to eat soup with a plastic spoon? The event is in conjunction with the current “Beach Eats” exhibit.
The Cape Flavors column written by Clemons explores and shares healthful, seasonal recipes and discussions on the importance of the use of fresh, local ingredients to ensure high quality meals. The column has been published in the Cape Gazette since 2005. Clemons conducts demonstrations and nutrition workshops for organizations throughout the Delmarva region. She holds a B.A. in Biopsychology from Vassar College and an M.A. in writing from Johns Hopkins University.

The Rehoboth Beach Museum is located at 511 Rehoboth Ave. next to the Visitors Center. Parking is available and the museum is handicapped accessible. Museum hours are Monday and Friday 10 am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am to 3pm.

The next event at the museum will be February 7 at 7pm. Author or folklorist Ed Okonowicz will present storytelling programs throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. The title of this program is Delaware Food Lore.
March 7 at 7pm, a PBS video, The French Chef, Julia Child French Classics, will be shown at the Museum. The French Chef is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. As Julia herself once said, “If I can do it, you can do it…Bon appetit!” This video is part of a special collection of six original black and white episodes broadcast in the 1960s.
