July Preview: Get Outside and Take Advantage of the Outdoor Eastern Shore Fun

Fireworks above and hot sand below, it’s a great time to enjoy all of the outdoor events going on across the Eastern Shore. Pack a picnic or pick up some tasty treats when you arrive, the Eastern Shore is bursting with opportunities to get outdoors and have fun. Whether you are watching the Ocean City skyline light up or perusing fine art in Easton, we’ve got a terrific line-up of outdoor events to consider this month.

OC Beach Lights

Ocean City Boardwalk

Sunday nights 9:30pm, 10pm & 10:30pm

Have you seen the terrific spectacle of lights yet? Just off the boardwalk as the sun goes down the inflatable sphere goes up and illuminates the sky. Patriotic scenes are displayed and choreographed to music, lasers, and even fireworks. This spectacular free show is one you don’t want to miss.

Freedom Fest

July 5^th 5:00-10:00 pm

Celebrate Fourth of July throughout the weekend at Freedom Fest. Crisfield opens its doors for an arts and crafts festival that also has live entertainment, food, and fireworks! The festival begins at 5pm with the annual Celebration of Freedom Fireworks scheduled for 9:15pm. This event is free, all you’ll need is a blanket or chair and some good old fashioned American pride.

Queen Anne’s County’s Historic Sites Open-House

Open the door to the past in Queen Anne’s County! Tons of historical sites are available for viewing; all you have to do is go check them out. Historic sites throughout the county will have their doors open this Saturday, July 5. Simply stop in the Visitor’s Center to obtain a Heritage Guide and begin your journey through historic Queen Anne’s County.

Plein Air Easton

July 12-20

Travel throughout Easton to see artists at work in a variety of competitions. Artists from all over the country will come out to contend in “Quick-draw” tournaments and “Paint-Outs”. There will also be a host of exhibitions for artists and visitors to enjoy.

Red White and Brew

July 19: 4:00-8:00

Brew River is one of our favorite spots for enjoying a few of our favorite Eastern Shore brews outdoors. Come out for a good time on the river on July 19 with all you can eat barbecue along with craft beer tastings from Fin City, Evo, Union, Heavy Seas and Backshore Breweries. But this event isn’t just about good times; proceeds from the event will go towards Coastal Kids, a hospice provider for young children.
