Each year, towns all along the Eastern Shore deck the halls with Christmas cheer by way of festive decorations and events that bring the community together in numerous ways. Each town enjoys their own celebrations – Berlin, Snow Hill, Pocomoke, Ocean Pines, Salisbury, Ocean City, Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach and Lewes – yep, we’ve got all you need to know for the tree lighting events for our area. Berlin’s Christmas Tree Lighting

Christmas tree lighting, live entertainment, refreshments, cookie decorating, s’mores, wine tasting, Santa’s house, horse & carriage rides, Samaritan shelter food drive, ornament making for the kids, bonfire, chili cook-off and a wreath silent auction.

Byrd Park in Snow Hill
The Snow Hill Christmas Tree will be lit on Monday, December 1st in Byrd Park on Market Street. The town will come alive with holiday lights at 5:30. Come celebrate the official beginning of the Christmas season and hang your red ribbon bow on the bigger and better town tree. You can also see the new animated lights around the circle in the park. There will be seasonal music along with readings and an appearance by Santa Claus.
4th Annual Hometown Christmas- Tree Lighting Ceremony

White Horse Park, Ocean Pines
Join us as we welcome the holiday season by lighting up trees decorated by local businesses, community clubs, and neighborhoods. Enjoy a hot cup of cider as you admire the beautiful tree decorations, listen to local choir groups and welcome Santa into town. Businesses, clubs, families and individuals are encouraged to sponsor a tree and help light up the park. Groups that purchase a tree ($45) will have a sign placed at their tree as recognition for participating. Sponsors are responsible for decorating their trees in the theme of their choice. All trees will be in place by November 24th for the ceremony on the 29th.
Salisbury’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony

Downtown Salisbury
November 21st 2014 is the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury, and this month we are kicking off the holiday season with the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, Santa and of course, shopping! Downtown Salisbury will be beautifully lit and filled with perfect locally made artwork and gifts for the holidays. The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on the main Plaza stage, complete with special performances, Santa and an 18-foot Christmas tree.
Ocean City’s Christmas Tree Lighting at the Winterfest of Lights

Northside Park’s Winterfest Village
The special opening ceremony, kicks off at 5:30PM on Thursday, November 20th at Northside Park’s Winterfest Village at 127th Street and the Bay. The tree lighting ceremony is free and open to the public. The ceremony will feature Ocean City Elementary School’s “OC Stars” performing holiday songs and dances. In addition, the Mayor Rick Meehan will flip the switch to light the Christmas tree and officially open the Winterfest of Lights. Even Santa will make a surprise appearance for the opening ceremony, which will feature free rides on the Winterfest Express train for the remainder of the evening.
Rehoboth Beach Tree Lighting

It’s a hometown tradition! Join the fun with a hometown sing-a-long and sunset tree lighting. The Rehoboth Beach Tree Lighting festivities will place on Friday, November 28th at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand Pavilion.
Dewey Beach Holiday Tree Lighting

The Dewey Beach Tree Lighting festivities will take place on Saturday, November 29th beginning at 6PM. Parking is free on any street in Dewey. Attendees are encouraged to bring their family, refreshments, and their Christmas spirit!
Lewes Christmas Parade, Tree-Lighting and Caroling in the Park

The Christmas Tree in Zwaanendael Park will be illuminated…followed by candlelight caroling in the park, led by Christy Taylor with sound by Bill Larsen.
