Last summer we covered the inaugural Dine United OC Competition in great detail. With 25 restaurants in Ocean City participating, the event raised over $44,000 for our local community. Well, after a successful first season, the event is back again to hopefully beat last year’s till – they are even launching a new portion of the campaign to help our community even more!
Dine United OC
The premise of the Dine United OC event is to stir up a little friendly competition among the restaurants in Ocean City, MD. Every time you order one of the featured items at a participating restaurant between June 1st and October 1st, a predetermined amount is donated to the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore. Order a Tuna Poke Taco at BLU Crabhouse & Raw Bar or a Pineapple Crush at The Embers Restaurant and the proceeds will benefit Dine United OC. Some of the other special items include any personal pizza at The Dough Roller, a ½ rack of ribs at The Little House of Pancakes, Ribs & Pizza, or the Crispy Calamari appetizer at Phillips Seafood. The complete list of participating restaurants and their respective specials can be found here.
Stay United OC
New for this year is the Stay United OC competition. Now, when you stay at one of the competing hotels between June 1st and October 1st, the hotel will be donating a portion of the proceeds from their featured rate packages. The Commander Hotel will donate $2 from every three-night stay, The Howard Johnson Oceanfront Inn and Oceanfront Plaza Hotel are each donating $1 from each Rodney Rate stay, and the Princess Royale Oceanfront will donate 10% of the proceeds from the first night of any five night Rodney Rate stays July through August. With so many visitors to Ocean City during the summer, we hope that this new addition to the campaign will help the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore support our community that much more. Check out the full list of participants here.
This summer, visit ocean city to stay or dine and you will support the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore and its 74 local programs that fight for the education, financial stability and health of everyone in our community!
