Ingredients
- 4 gala apples (Medium, Skinned and Chopped)
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- cooking spray
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (Chopped/Cubed)
- 1/2 cup skim milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
The Fruit
- Skin and chop apples into bite size pieces.
- Spray the inside of the slow cooker. Combine “The Fruit” ingredients and dump into slow cooker.
The Crust
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, spices and salt.
- Add the cubed butter to the flour mixture and with a pastry blender, cut the butter into it.
- Combine the milk and the vanilla. Pour that into the bowl with the flour and butter. Mix together.
- Pour the mixture over the apples in the slow cooker. Spread evenly. Cover and cook on low for 3.5 to 4 hours, or until the topping has set.
