The clock is officially counting down and we are only 10 days, 19 hours and several minutes away from the annual Across The Bay 10K! During the final stretch leading up to this event, we are happy to provide you with a few need-to-know tips for the big day.

Registration:

First things first. If you have not registered for the Across the Bay 10K yet, you have only until Wednesday, November 2nd. Registration includes free shuttle to and from the designated runner parking lots, commemorative tech shirt, interlocking finisher medal, runner food and bottle of water at the finish line, complimentary bag check, and live music at the finisher celebration! The option to have your bib mailed to you is past due, but please note that bibs can be picked up at the race weekend expo beginning on Friday, November 4th at 10am. Bonus: you can have a friend or family member pick up your bib for you in the event that you are not able to visit the Race Expo prior to the race on Sunday.

The Race:

This is a 10K event or a 6.2 mile point-to-point course that will take runners over the eastbound span of the 4.35 mile long Chesapeake Bay Bridge, which reaches 186 feet at its tallest point. This event only happens once a year and is the only way to cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge by foot!

Water & Hydration:

The Across the Bay 10K is the largest cup-less race on record anywhere. A cup-less race means that there will be no paper water cups between the start and finish line that you would typically see at road races. There will be water available in the start area. On the course, there will be self-serve refill stations that can also be used like water fountains. There will also be water at the finish line for each participant. Runners and walkers may carry their own water bottle on the course – no glass please!

What is allowed on course:

Registered Participants (must wear race bib)

Fanny Packs

Hydration Belts or Packs

Cups or Bike Bottles

One-Gallon Clear Bags

What is not allowed on course:

Spectators

Selfie Sticks

Backpacks for Gear

Glass Containers

Weapon of any kind

Facemasks

Flags exceed 11”x17”

Drones

Parking & Shuttle Service:

Please note that there is no drop off area near the start line for runners. All runners must board a start line shuttle in the morning, at one of the locations listed below. Runners must wear race bibs to board the shuttle. There are designated parking lots on both the Eastern Shore and Western Shore for you to choose from. You will only be allowed to park in the specific lot for which you have purchased a pass – unauthorized vehicles may be removed from parking lots to ensure that parking inventory is available for those who have purchased a parking pass. Please note, new for 2016: the Harry S. Truman parking lot is not a race lot this year and will not have shuttle service.

Green Lot – Anne Arundel Community College ($15.00)

Red Lot – Chesapeake Community College ($10.00)

Camo Lot – Matapeake Middle School ($20.00)
