I had the opportunity to visit NYC last week for the FFANY shoe market. This is where all designers & brands show their Spring 2012 collections!

During this time of year, New York is magical, with the tree lighting ceremony, festive lights everywhere and families sharing in the joys of the season! It really doesn’t matter how often I visit New York, it never gets old, the landmarks still amaze me, the city is exciting and it breaths energy in you no matter what your mood happens to be.

With the focus on holiday shopping, it is hard to believe that buyers are looking at Spring 2012 and Fall 2012. This is how the industry works, while consumers are busy shopping for fall holiday gifts buyers of retail stores are searching the market for the latest trends for the next season. While I can’t share actual photos of the product that we see due to ethical reasons, I can share with you what the latest trends are, and give you all a sneak peak of what is to come!

Hot Trends to come:

Fringe started this season with boots and bags but fringe takes on a whole new position in spring! From sandals, to handbags and accessories, fringe will be a staple in your wardrobe for the “It” fashionista. If you want to get a jump on this trend visit South Moon Under and search for the Sam Edelman Louie Fringe bootie! These are my favorite shoes; I have them in both black & taupe. Get yours before they are gone.

Color Pop From neon green, hot pink and electric blue, you will see color everywhere from colored denim to bright sandals. Don’t be afraid of this trend, embrace color like you never have before. This is a great way to accent a neutral wardrobe with a splash of color on your feet.

Preps Cool Perfect for transitional dressing from cool stripe espadrille sandals to kelly green slipper flats, “Preppy Chic” is back. You will see so many sweet lady like looks that can work in your everyday wardrobe.

The hottest silhouettes in footwear for the spring 2012 season are wedges, from covered wedges and espadrilles to Aztec prints. Slipper flats are the new “It” girl ballerina, and a really great transitional shoe from winter to spring. Gladiators are back in a big way from animal to metallic. Start saving your money now because this up coming spring season is going to make you want to update your wardrobe.

Stay tuned for more updates throughout the season! Visit the gallery below to see these trends.
