This week I wanted to focus on ‘shore fashion’ and show some locals who kick it up a notch everyday.

I, like most, had an impression of the fashion that I would see when I hit the local scene; I thought that people would be really casual and laid back. I did see some of that, but mostly I saw looks that you would expect to see in big cities like NYC. What I found out when talking to the women below is that fashion for them is not about labels and names but more about expressing themselves and finding what works and what is comfortable.

Local beach fashion, like the best way to approach fashion in general, is about mixing brands, designers and even trends to come up with the outfit that reflects the way you feel that day. Because they don’t have the luxury of big city department stores, these women are experts at spotting key pieces to add to their wardrobe.
