You’ve got to love “Wide Open Spaces,” and I’m not talking about being out in the middle of nowhere—although that may be fun if you are with the right person! I am talking about the latest trend in pants…Wide Leg. I know what you are thinking—this is nothing new. But I’m not talking about denim, because let’s be honest, been there done that! Not saying I am against denim of course, but this season it is all about wide leg pants taking a new direction with fresh fabrications, bold colors and prints! From exaggerated wide leg, high wasted, to silk and chiffon fabrics, this trend will be a great addition to you wardrobe. I think this look is effortlessly cool and screams chic.

The key, like anything you buy, is finding the right fit and look that will work for you. If you’re tall and slender, I would opt for a bold print and wider opening. If you’re petite and curvy, high wasted with a bold color will work to lengthen your leg.

Living at the beach I am always searching for ways to dress fashionable and comfortable at the same time. This is a great day to night look and even if you are not someone who considers herself fashion forward, I think this is an easy look to pull off.

It is important to finish this look off with great shoes; I would opt for a nude wedge or tan platform heel (think 70’s style). If you are wearing a bold print keep it simple with a solid color top in a simple cotton or woven fabric. If you are wearing a bold color, sometimes prints will work in black & white or choose a nude or ivory to soften this look.

This is just the beginning of this trend, so you will see it all over from higher end boutiques and department stores, to places like Forever 21. Whatever style you opt for, make sure they look great on you and that you choose a style that can carry you through more then one season! Check out some of my favorite ones below!
