Some of the things that I am loving right now in fashion are the unexpected ways people are pairing colors, textures and even patterns. Now more then ever anything goes and it makes it easier on your bank account when you can take what you already own and add a new twist to it! The easiest way to pair things together is mixing colors that are not typical, like mint and tangerine or yellow and pink.

Mixing patterns can also add an updated element to your look, like florals and stripes, Aztec prints, and even logos or screen tee's mixed with patterns can add an edgy city vibe to your look. I love that with this trend you can experiment, and you may not get it right all the time, but it’s all about pushing the envelope. Some of the things I am obsessing about right now are mixing color in a subtle way in your hair; when I say color I mean unexpected colors like pink and then matching your lips to that color for a chic effect. This is something that you don't want to do all over in your hair but a streak or two can be so cool and give off a fun hipster vibe. Blondes tend to look best adding pinks and brunettes look great adding blue hues.

Now that summer is on the horizon you can also take this pairing to mixing your swimsuits. If it is not in your budget to splurge on a new suit, take a top that you own and mix it with a different colored bottom. It will look effortless but you will be the stand out on the beach by creating your own unique look. That is what fashion and style is all about, trying new things, breathing new life into old favorites.

Fashionably Yours,

Melissa
