The Fourth of July has come and gone but this summer month is nowhere near over and fortunately for us, it’s just getting started. July on the Eastern Shore has always been about hot sun, hotter sand and warm ocean water but this weekend we welcome community festivals, fundraising events, and even a happy hour for our dogs. Yep, bring your favorite furry friend to the bar. July, you’re looking great already!

2nd Friday Art Stroll in Berlin
Second Friday’s are synonymous with Art Strolls for us. Since we are conveniently located right outside of Berlin, you’ll often find us perusing the shops and restaurants during the monthly Art Strolls in America’s Coolest Small Town. The town’s shops stay open late as they showcase the local talent. We typically find ourselves sneaking tasty treats from Baked Dessert Cafe!
Saturday, July 12th
Captain Robert S. Craig Annual Boardwalk Swim & Ginny Craig Quarter Mile Boardwalk Swim
The Ocean City Beach Patrol hosts the annual boardwalk swim to honor Captain Robert Craig this Saturday at 6 PM on 14th Street and the Boardwalk. Competitors will swim a measure mile to the finish line located at 14th Street. Many locals compete in the race to honor the late Captain Craig and his service to the Town of Ocean City and the Ocean City Beach Patrol.
Plein Air Easton Competition and Festival
This festival is the largest and most prestigious juried plein air painting competition in the US. It’s held annually in Easton and it’s their 10th anniversary this year. These air painters produce art from life and compete against each other. Last year’s art sales totaled $325,000 with 313 paintings sold in just 2 days, making it more popular than ever. It’s truly growing each year, this festival is a must see if you are interested in abstract art. The festival goes until July 20th, making it convenient for everyone.
Yappy Hour at Brew River
Bring your pooch with you to “yappy” hour at Brew River and benefit a great cause. For just a $5 donation (that goes towards the Wicomico County Humane Society at the door) your dog is welcomed with a treat and four hours full of free entertainment and new doggy friends. Brew River is sponsoring the event with happy hour drink prices, complimentary water bowls for your pet and even red carpet photos. It starts at 2PM on July 12th and goes until six.
So come on down, we’ve got something for everyone this weekend!
