Tropical Storm Bertha may not have had a noticeable weather affect on our area (we’ve had a beautiful string of beach days this week!) but the storm certainly made her presence known off-shore, causing a slow start to the White Marlin Open and resulting in a notable spike in injuries among swimmers caught in dangerous wave breaks and rip currents. On the plus side, surfers up and down the coast of Maryland and Delaware were thrilled at the prospect of waves this week, paddling out in the early morning and late evening hours to take advantage of the good surf conditions (finally!).
