Dog lover’s on the Eastern Shore, UNITE! The Talbot County Kennel Club, Salisbury Kennel Club and the Mispillion Kennel Club’s Eastern Shore Classic Dog Show will return to the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center this Wednesday, November 5th until Sunday, November 9th. The event brings over 100 unique dog breeds to our area competing in Best in Show each day of the event. Other special events will include Best Puppy in Show on Thursday and Saturday and Best Bred by Exhibitor on Sunday. Another highlight from past attendees…? The Black Russian Terriers National Specialty to be held on Saturday, November 8th.
The Eastern Shore Classic will be open to the public Wednesday through Saturday from 8:30AM to 4:30PM and tickets are available at the door. Admission: $5 for adults and $1 for students. Children under 5 are free.
Don’t have a dog competing in the events? No problem. If you are passionate about our favorite furry friends, attend the event anyways! There will be opportunities to see once in a lifetime breeds, competitions, shopping from a variety of vendors and opportunities to learn about the different canines. Christmas presents for our doggy’s anyone?!?! #obsesseddogparents.
Show organizers are expecting more than 5000 dogs and over 7000 spectators and participating employees to attend. Not surprisingly, the Wicomico County Youth and Civic Center have announced that people from all over the country come to attend the event, not just Marylanders. This year’s event is expected to have an overall positive impact on the Salisbury community and contribute more than $1.5 million dollars to the local economy.
So if you don’t have plans this weekend… now you do. This is a great event that’s completely different than anything we usually have around the Eastern Shore! Being that dogs are very popular around our area, this would be a great way to include them in your weekend plans.
