After months of football, weeks of playoff excitement, countless Sunday Fundays, and a shameless amount of snacking, the 2014/2015 football season is finally coming to an end. That’s right, the big game is this Sunday, February 1, at 6:30pm. The New England Patriots will face off against the Seattle Seahawks, and while we haven’t gotten over the Ravens narrow loss, we are still excited for game day specials, parties, and of course, the food! We’ve rounded up some of our favorite options, from watching on the big screen in the Morley Hall at Seacrets to having a catered party at home courtesy of Bethany Blues. There are plenty of specials happening this weekend, keep reading for all the details…

The pressure of hosting a stellar football party is intense. Providing enough seating with good views of the TV, purchasing the right amount of alcohol, cleaning the house, planning out the perfect game day menu…the stress can build up quickly if you allow it. How about eliminating one of the major items on your to-do list – cooking. Bethany Blues provides a variety of game day take-out packages that are sure to please any crowd. There are four package options, with each including a 12-pack of Pepsi products, one tray of cornbread and honey butter, paper plates, forks and napkins. Each package feeds 10-12 people. Head to their website for details on the party packages.

Pizza Tugos

Through the 2014-2015 football season we have become quite the regulars at Pizza Tugos in West Ocean City. For starters, their beer selection is unparalleled. From drafts to bottles, there is a beer for everyone, from the Natty Light drinker to the craft connoisseur.  Not to mention the super modern soda machine with more flavor options than a delivery truck. Next up? The televisions. There are televisions situated throughout the bar and restaurant area for your viewing pleasure so you can see the game from just about anywhere. But our favorite part about Sunday Funday at Tugos is the All-You-Can-Eat pizza and wings special available during NFL games for just $10. We won’t even try and tabulate how many slices of pizza or pieces of wings we’ve put away this season, but we will say we aren’t finished yet. Super Bowl Sunday…look out.

Seacrets

117 W. 49th Street, Ocean City, MD

It’s pretty hard to top a 30-foot big screen for watching the Super Bowl, and at Seacrets, that’s exactly what you’ll get…PLUS 15 HDTVs and full stadium sound. Pregame tailgate starts at 4pm, with kickoff at 6:30pm. Pigskin prices during the game include beer and liquor specials as well as half-price jerk chicken, fries, onion rings and wings.

The Highspot Gastropub

305 High Street, Cambridge, MD

Downtown Cambridge has been stepping their culinary game up in a serious way over the past few years. The High Spot is one of those places that we go out of our way to visit. Cambridge isn’t exactly down the street from our headquarters here, but when we get the chance to swing through, the High Spot is on the top of our list for dining. The bar is cozy and the beer selection is perfect for game day sipping. But for football friendly snacks, we suggest the tenderloin skewers, beer battered pickles, buffalo oysters, and the pretzels and cheese. For the deviled egg lover, order the Deviled Eggs Different Ways and enjoy smoked bacon, roasted salmon, and local crabmeat deviled eggs.

Big Fish Grill

20312 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach, DE

The Big Fish Grill Seafood Market boasts fresh fish and shellfish for all your take-out needs, including party platters. We’ll start with their Football Box Lunch Special, available this Sunday for the Super Bowl festivities. The $6 specialty menu has a ton of options, but we’ve got our eye on the white chicken chili, buffalo chicken cheesesteak, and the blackened chicken tacos. The options for party platters are endless (seriously, take a look at their online menu) and serves 10 to 15 or 15 to 20 people. The menu is extensive, with options such as veal cocktail meatballs, whole grilled Scottish salmon, quesadillas, salads and deli salads…there are even 7 types of dip platters.

Greene Turtle

Multiple locations

All of the Greene Turtle locations will be open and hopping for the big game day, with food and drinks specials ranging depending on which location you choose. As a self-proclaimed sports bar, The Greene Turtle is always a safe bet for sporting events, with ample televisions, seating, and football-friendly appetizers. But what we really like right now are their ‘deflated’ prices (see what they did there) for the big game. In honor of Super Bowl 49, the Greene Turtle is offering 49% off of regularly priced beer with the purchase of any regularly priced food item on the check at participating locations.
