It’s the last weekend of August, a majority of the kids and teachers and back in the classroom (with the exception of Worcester County of course), and the crowds are definitely starting to thin out in Ocean City. Across Delmarva, the change of seasons is apparent as pumpkin spice coffee returns to Wawa (too soon in our humble opinion) and fall items start to hit the retail shelves (also too soon). We’re still in summer mode of course, with OC Sandfest and OC Jeep Week providing us with another excuse to hit the beach. Our weekend is also looking promising with the Grand Opening of a new art gallery in Berlin and the 4th Friday Art Stroll in Pocomoke. Labor Day Weekend is just around the corner, and with it comes the start of the fall festival season that we look forward to every year, but for now, let’s enjoy the beautiful weather across Delmarva by getting outside to explore the shore!

Enjoy free admission to the local museums, shopping, local artists and vendors, cornhole, and an after-stroll party at The Riverside Grille.

OC Sandfest

The displays will remain intact through August 30 so be sure to take a look at all the magnificent pieces. Highlights also include the sand sculpting classes, which will be held from 9am until 10am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at North Division Street. Learn from the pros with easy-to-learn basics of the best way to build your own stunning sand sculptures. Saturday will also feature a Hands in the Sand Demonstration, as the sculptors share some of their tricks of the trade in a one-hour demo starting at 2pm.

Ocean City Jeep Week

Jeeps start at 30th Street and move south to the Inlet parking lot with a parade of over 250 Jeeps each morning starting at 7am and lasting until 9:30am. Friday and Saturday, meet us in Berlin for the annual Jeep Jam! It’s the signature event for Jeep Week as C.C. Customs welcomes thousands of Jeeps and spectators to town for their massive obstacle course, trails and mud pits.  It’s an all-day affair, with Jeeps hitting the course from 9am until 6pm on Friday and 10am until 7pm Saturday. Sunday morning will bring an end to Jeep Week 2015, but not before a Sunday Morning Send Off at Hooper’s Crab House in West Ocean City. The Jeep Week HQ will be located at the Roland A.
