As the weekend approaches, we are fairly confident that the weather will be a vast improvement over last weekend. We’ve been enjoying a gorgeous week so far – exploring the shore, taking advantage of the fall beach days, and reveling in a few outdoor happy hours. Over the next few days we plan on continuing our love affair with fall festivals, and we’re taking you with us! Pocomoke City Celebrates 150 years

When: Wednesday, October 7 – Sunday, October 11

Where: Pocomoke City, Various Locations

What: In honor of this pretty amazing milestone (150 years sure is noteworthy in our book) Pocomoke City is celebrating all weekend-long with activities, events, food, and live entertainment. The celebration begins Wednesday as the Sturgis One Room School Museum opens up for tours and reenactments. Friday, the official Sesquicentennial Celebration begins at 8pm with plenty of food and live entertainment, including the crowning of Mr. and Mrs. Sesquicentennial and the returnof the town’s centennial Men’s Beard Contest. Saturday, enjoy the Annual Downtown Pocomoke Fall Festival, with plenty of food, entertainment, and kids activities, along with the puppy costume parade at noon. Saturday also includes the Antique Car Cruise-In. Sunday; relax with a free ice cream social at the Costen House Museum. All that and more this weekend in Pocomoke!

Good Beer Festival

When: Saturday, October 10 & Sunday, October 11

Where: Pemberton Park, Salisbury

What: Beer lovers (or those that simply love any excuse to get outside on a gorgeous fall day for a fun festival) rejoice every October as the Good Beer Festival returns to Salisbury. The historic Pemberton Park is an ideal place to spend a fall day, but for a beer festival, it’s all the better. The event boasts over 100 different American craft brews, along with a Local Beer Garden overflowing with some of our favorite local craft brews like 3rd Wave, Burley Oak, 16 Mile, RAR, Rubber Soul, and Evo. Live music and plenty of local grub make this event a perfect all-day affair. Tickets are $35 for one day, $60 for both days, or $10 for non-tasting.

Apple-Scrapple Festival

When: Friday, October 9 & Saturday, October 10

Where: Bridgeville, DE

What: Scrapple, apples, apples, and scrapple…that’s what’s in our very near future as we gear up for our trip to the annual Apple-Scrapple Festival! Food is on the forefront of our minds for this event, but there’s also over 500 vendors that will be in attendance, along with a host of activities and live entertainment to behold. Some of the more unique aspects (as if an event dedicated to scrapple isn’t unique enough) are the Ladies Skillet Toss, the Mayor’s Apple Sling, and the Scrapple Chunkin’ Contest. Parsons Fall Fest

When: Saturday, October 10, 9am-4pm

Where: Parson Produce Farm, Dagsboro, DE

What: For those of you looking for a family-oriented, kid-friendly day of fall-themed fun, head to Parsons Farm for their 8th Annual Fall Festival. What to expect? Pedal tractor racing, hay wagon rides, petting zoo, pumpkin bowling, rubber duck water pump races, youth & adult pie eating and bobbing for apples contests, cow pie bingo, and much, much more.

Double Down Wine & Beer Festival

When: Friday, October 9 – Sunday, October 11, 2pm-7pm

Where: Under the Big Tent @ the Casino at Ocean Downs

What: This Saturday marks the 3rd Annual Double Down Wine & Beer Festival at the Casino at Ocean Downs, with three days of wine and beer vendors, local musicians, clothing, jewelry, and art displays. Tickets are $30 per person and guests receive $20 in Free Slot Dollars. What’s more, the proceeds from the event go to Diakonia, our local Worcester County-based homeless shelter and food bank.

Endless Summer Cruisin’

When: October 8-October 11

Where: Ocean City, MD

What: The rumble of over 2000 cars will be here this weekend as the classic cars roll into town for the 18th Annual Endless Summer Fall Cruisin’ event. Customs, hot rods, classics and muscle cars will hit the boardwalk for the morning parade, with thousands of cars visible in the Inlet and Convention Center parking lots all weekend-long. Of course, the common practice is to set up along Coastal Highway for a free viewing of the cars as they cruise by. Either way, we love the chance to view some incredible classic cars!

Fall Cruisers in Berlin

When: Saturday, October 10, 10am-2pm

Where: Main Street, Berlin

What: Ocean City doesn’t get to have all the fun, there will be plenty of classic cars to behold on Saturday along Main Street in Berlin. Enjoy the cars, talk to car owners and enthusiasts, and enjoy a beautiful fall day enjoying the shops and dining in the historic Berlin!
