In honor of today, October 4th, being National Taco Day, we thought we’d save you the trouble and share our favorite spots to grab Tacos on Delmarva for your viewing pleasure. This also allows time for more important decisions like: queso or guacamole? We suggest both!

Tequila Mockingbird

12919 Coastal Hwy, Ocean City, MD 21842

https://octequila.com/

We love to head to Tequila Mockingbird in Ocean City, MD for tacos because they have such a great selection. They offer everything from grilled chicken to mango tuna to braised short rib tacos – there is something for everyone here, that’s for sure! They even offer refried bean tacos for the vegetarians out there. Feeling feisty? Make sure to start with an order of El Diablo Salsa! Just be warned – they aren’t joking when they say it’s hot!

Pico Taqueria

6382 Maddox Blvd, Chincoteague, VA 23336

http://www.picotaqueria.com/

Looking for a departure from the average ground beef taco? Then you need to check out Pico Taqueria in Chincoteague. This taco stand is reminiscent of those we’ve seen in Mexico and they are serving up some creative taco combos! In true Eastern Shore fashion, their “The Maddox” taco is full of local fried oysters, pickled carrots, daikon, tartar sauce, and thai basil. Also, you must not forget to try their dessert nachos while you’re there: fresh tortilla chips tossed in cinnamon and sugar, topped with berries, homemade chocolate sauce and whipped cream. We’re officially drooling.

Mother’s Cantina

2810 Philadelphia Ave, Ocean City, MD 21842

https://motherscantina.com

Mother’s Cantina in Ocean City, MD is serving up some great tacos in their very own tortilla shells made in house daily. You can even pick some up to make your own tacos at home in their Tortilla Shop. Choose from delicious taco options like fish, chorizo, and chicken. Our vegetarian friends can also enjoy their choice of black bean or portabella tacos. Mother’s also has a vast selection of fajitas for those of you that love to DIY!

Papa Grande’s Coastal Taqueria

38929 Madison Ave, Selbyville, DE 19975

210 2nd Street, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971

http://www.papagrandes.com/

Papa Grande’s Coastal Taqueria has two locations: one in Rehoboth Beach and one in Fenwick Island and they are no stranger to great tacos. However, if you go to Papa Grande’s and don’t try their street corn, you are truly doing yourself a disservice. Pro tip: if you go on Tuesdays, they offer half price tacos. What? Today is Tuesday? You can thank us later.

Taco Reho

19406 Coastal Hwy, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971

http://www.tacoreho.com/

Is it just us or do tacos from a food truck just automatically taste like heaven? Well, regardless, Taco Reho makes an incredible taco. We highly recommend the grilled cheese taco. Yes, you heard that right: tacos and grilled cheese COMBINED. You also have to treat yourself to an order of carne fries – waffle cut potatoes, beef short rib, queso, and salsa – these are a must have!

Don Chuy Taqueria

411 Academy St, Cambridge, MD 21613

https://www.facebook.com/Don-Chuy-Mexican-Taqueria-MD-1565174680370803/?fref=ts

Don Chuy Taqueria in Cambridge is truly authentic serving up some delicious marinated pork tacos in handmade tortillas. While it is National Taco Day, the coolest menu item at Don Chuy Taqueria is the Piña Fajita. The Piña Fajita comes with steak, chicken, and shrimp and it’s served in a pineapple! It’s so pretty we almost feel bad eating it (we said almost)!

Ok, so now that we’ve shared our favorite taco spots on the Eastern Shore, we’re good and hungry. Where will you be celebrating National Taco Day?
